Silently selecting

Sat Mar 21, 2009, 2:03 AM
In the midst of my very youthful presence in DA, I have many eventful moments in my senior year of High School. I cross stage to recieve my Captaincy Badge for Archery '09 for my school, I have been considered for the Diabolo Performance group, I apply for the Headmaster's Committee for Environment and Cultural. I run the cross country, placing 67th haha (Which is ok... considering there were 500+ boys running, although it is a great deviation from my previous years. 14th first attempt, 22nd second attempt, 43rd third attempt, and now... 67th.) Perhaps becoming more unfit, I feel it's more so other people dedicating more time to fitness, whereas I do not. In addition, The Archery Interschool Semi-Final took place, with my absence unfortunately. We came 4th. Which is a big drop from the qualifying rounds, where we placed second. However, hopefully the team keeps their spirits and I leave my mark as the Archery Captain in a respectable place for the Outdoor Archery Finals.

Anyway, With regard to DA, I have sifted through alot of literature work, and haven't taken a glimpse at the amazing artwork. Whilst reading, I tried to categorise the work. Sonnets, Ballads, etc. Which all have very nice content, and interesting references, but What I noticed is that, now a days.... classic sonnet and ballad structures are losing parts to it. Like Chinese Whispers... where a little part of it is lost.. eventually... This is with regard to in particular the syllables. Are we being too lazy now a days? Do we not realize the importance of this? Am I being too selective? I don't know... But sometimes, I find that one poem that shines. One that follows the rules of structure and content, yet... still manages to break them with originality and flair. I wish I could write with such ability.... DA is all very inspiring.

I'm actually rather outgoing, but I express my feelings deep down in a literary form rather than just saying it out to the world. Me being outgoing is more in the sense that I'm an open minded guy, and rather social.

Learning how to draw well and use Photoshop more effectively haha! But I love Poetry and Prose - Literature in general =D
